Moving

Sometimes we stop and we sit

Sitting
Sitting overwhelmed
Overwhelmed facing the ocean of need
Crying

And it moves forward without us

Sometimes it continues on and we are blind

Blinded
Blinded unaware
Unaware of the dark injustice of our world
Comfortable

And it moves forward without us

May we be moving

Moving
Moving forward
Forward into the dark injustice of our world
Forward with the hope of the gospel

Together we hold lonely hands
Educate hungry minds
Feed swollen bellies
Stand by each other
And nurture souls

One step at a time
One voice
One word
One touch

Alone so small, but together facing the ocean
And moving forward

i just wrote a comment on matts blog about something im learning.

ive realized looking at the life of jesus He wasnt interested in the masses. but in relationship - one person at a time. if GOD himself had few followers and few relationships... this says something. it says human free will is sacred. it says our interaction with God and others matters.

this has helped me not be overwhelmed with the "ocean" you wrote about. i think we all feel the weight of it.

its validated me being here, 'wasting my time' holding babies, siting with the poor, having tea in the teashop in my alley, and doing things most people in ministry might consider pointless.

your already doing a great job loving, one person at a time... simply in the little things like the fact you guys know your neighbors and drive to MI to visit mom and dad, ect....

so glad you and matt are in my life!
